We've only bet that I have to pay if I don't publish, so I can't really win (money, as I consider publishing regularly a form of winning). I wanted to put some pressure on myself because otherwise I end up not publishing very much. There is no deadline for the bet, but if I want to quit publishing regularly I need to inform him and publish my last essay. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and I keep this practice for as long as I live.
